Sir Alex has rebuked England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson for raising the “wild dream” of Wayne Rooney appearing in this summer’s World Cup finals.

It is shaping up to be a “club v.s country” battle for Rooney.

But England’s World Cup hopes got a massive boost last night after it was revealed Wayne Rooney is likely to be in the side for the Sweden game. England’s Swedish head of medical staff Leif Sward insisted: “I think Wayne Rooney will play in the World Cup.” Asked how he rated the ace’s chances of making the Group B game against Sweden on June 20, he said: “Great. As I see it today it’s a more than 50 per cent chance Wayne will play that one. Wayne Rooney is absolutely not out of the picture.”

As for me, i think Rooney is a fantastic talent..but to say that he would be ready for the Sweden game sounds simple impossible.Don’t get me wrong, i do want to see rooney in Germany, but as of now it all looks too bleak.
