Borrusia Dortmund’s Tomas Rosicky has sign a deal with Arsenal for an undisclosed fee,believed to be in the region of $7 million.

The Czech Republic international will team up with his new team mates after this years World Cup.

‘We are delighted to welcome Tomas to our squad.

‘He has great technique, skill on the ball and sharp passing.

‘Tomas has good experience at all levels for club and country, and we look forward to welcoming him to Arsenal after what will hopefully be a successful summer for him at the World Cup.’ Arsene Wenger said.

TOMAS ROSICKY FACTFILE

1980: Born October 4 in Prague. Father Jiri was a celebrated footballer in Czechoslovakia.

Started his career with CKD Kompresory in the Czech capital before signing for Sparta Prague aged eight.

1998-99: Breaks through into Sparta first team aged 17 and wins first of back-to-back Czech league titles.

2000: February - Makes national team debut in a friendly against the Republic of Ireland.

June: Features in two of the Czech Republic’s three games at Euro 2000.

October 25: Scores against Arsenal for Sparta in a 4-2 Champions League group defeat at Highbury. Sparta finish bottom of their pool but Rosicky’s performances attract the attention of German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund among others, including Arsenal.

2001: January - joins Dortmund in an £18million deal.

October 6, 2001: Scores first goals for the Czech senior side, hitting a brace in a 6-0 win over Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifier.

2002: May - Dortmund end Rosicky’s first full season in Germany as Bundesliga champions and reach the UEFA Cup final.

Voted the Czech Republic’s Player of the Year for the second season in a row.

2003: March - Rosicky and team-mates edged out of Champions League in second group phase.

August 27: Dortmund lose on penalties in Champions League qualifier to Club Brugge. The Germans miss out on the big money on offer in the group stages and the result sparks a slump into trouble on and off the pitch.

2004: May - Borussia miss out on European qualification, finishing sixth.

June: Rosicky plays four of the Czechs’ five games as they reach the semi-finals of Euro 2004 in Portugal.

2005: November 16 - Scores the goal which takes Czech Republic to the World Cup in a play-off second leg against Norway in Prague.

2006: May - Ends season at Dortmund with five goals in 28 games.

May 22 - Czech coach Karel Bruckner confirms Rosicky has been allowed to leave the team’s pre-World Cup training camp in Austria to discuss a move to Arsenal.

May 23 - Joins Arsenal on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.
