If England make it out of their group and proceed to the knockout stages, than the world will get to see Wayne Rooney play for his country.

The striker was given the “all-clear” by medical staffs to appear at the world cup albeit in the later stages.

Rooney’s club, Manchester United has issued a statement regarding his condition:

Manchester United can confirm that Wayne Rooney has rejoined the England squad in Germany following his scan in Manchester.

He is now in the care of the England medical team. The expert independent medical view is that Wayne has a good chance of being fit after the group stage.
