Look at the sidebar (vote) 28% of people who have voted says England will win the World Cup.
But if based on their performance last nite, i would say it’s a far fetch dream.
That of course doesn’t mean England have no hope of lifting the cup, but i’m simply saying if they continue to play the way they were playing, than they would not win it.
Alas, i realise they were without star stiker Wayne Rooney, they could use his talents all right.
Anywayz, regarding the game yesterday, England were 1-0 winners against Paraguay, and own goal by Paraguuay’s captain Carlos Gamarra in the 4th minute.
Michael Owen wasn’t as sharp as he could be,Peter Crouch was..errr…tall? Gerrard seems a little tired although he did produce some good displays,Lampard made the keeper do some work, and i believe Beckham and Joe Cole were the main lights in this particular game.

Strong Points:
-Beckham with his dead ball kicks.
-Rio Ferdinand and John Terry partnership seems to be working.
-Robinson…did you see his superb “high” goal kick?!
Weak Points:
- Need to work on their attacking play

Strong Points:
- Played pretty well, were unlucky to lose to an own goal.
- Santa Cruz played the whole game, which was a boost (he’s just back from 3 major sugeries)
- Nelson Cuevas
Weak Points:
- Started nervously, and England capitalised on it by scoring an early goal.
- Lack experience at top level.
England’s next game will be against Trinidad & Tobago, who played really well, even with 10 man against Sweden.
A win for England would mean they will qualify from Group B.
