Portugal made it’s entrance into the World Cup with a rather sluggish performance.
They started out brightly enough, with Pauleta grabbing the first goal which would be the winner in the 4th minute, just the exact same time England took their lead against Paraguay the other day,and the similarity didn’t stop there as the Angola grew in confidence and step up a gear, just as Paraguay did previously.
After that fast pace start, the game pretty much went into boring mode, really sad considering many people predicted Angola would be the whipping boys of this group, and boy did they prove their critics wrong!.
Portugal’s Deco was not featured in this game,he suffered an injury during training just before the game started.
The second hald was a bore, and i can’t understand why Portugal’s coach “Big Phil’ decided to take off Cristiano Ronaldo so early in the second half.Angola can take heart from their performance and maybe even spring a suprise in their next game.
