This is why i absolutely love football,it’s games like the one Argentina played today is the reason i
grew up loving footy.

What can i say? This is called the “Group Of Death”,yet it looks otherwise.
Nobody in their right mind would have predicted that Argentina would stroll past the serbians
with relative ease.
From the first whistle till the last it was just “The Argentina Show”,Jose Pekerman has really assembled one of the best sides in argentinian history,even without players such as Juan Sebastian Veron,Kily Gonzalez etc.
Maxi Rodriguez got the Argies off the mark in as early as the 6th minute,by than you could just feel something special was coming up next……and it did!.Luiz Gonzalez suffered what looked like a groin injury and on came Estaban Cambiasso in the 16th minute and it didn’t take long before Cambiasso made his mark with a superb team work goal,backheeled by Crespo in the 31st minute.Serbia & Montenegro must have been devastated,but their misery wasn’t about to end there,because today my friends was Argentina’s day.
Maxi Rodriguez got his name on the scoresheet again in the 41st,just before the break,effectively killing off the game as a contest.
Overall in the first half it was all Argentina,nothing significant to mention about Serbia.Heinze,Ayala and co were almost having an off day.
Than came the second half, what would have Pekerman told his players in the dressing room?
After all,this was called the group of death,and many,even Argentina themselves said before the game that Serbia wasn’t a team to be underestimated,but here they find themsleves 3-0 in the first half,with superb displays and almost no response from the Serb’s.
It was basically just the same in the second half,as Argentina showed the world what they were made off, wiith beautiful passing & possesion play,they even had time to do some tricks here and there. 
And as if it wasn’t enough,Jose Pekerman brought on Argentinian bad boy Carlos Tevez, who
had some brilliant moment and even scored a goal later on.Wonder boy Lionel Messi was than brought in to replace Rodriquez, and boy did that change things as Messi was there to impress
and Tevez was now being pressured to emulate or maybe play better than Messi…and who would suffer for this?..The serbians :(, and their day got worst as star stiker Metaja Kezman was Red carded in the 65th minute.
Messi brought life into the one-sided game and even showed some sparks and moments of brilliance to suggest that more was to come.Diego Maradonna had said Messi is the player he loves, and he did his mentor proud by scoring a goal in the 88th minute,after Crespo and Tevez had scored in the 78th & 84th minute.
So it’s bye bye to Serbia & Montenegro and HELLO to Argentina as they book their place in the next round even before meeting Holland!….amazing…6-0..i’m still drooling..hopefully the Holland -Ivory Coast game that i’m about to watch now is in the same tempo.
