Spain-tacular
The Spanish Armada continues to march foward as Raul,Fernando Torres and Co produced a magnificient comeback against a hardworking Tunisian side.
Tunisia started brightly from the first whistle and as early as the 8th minute Jaouhar Mnari put the Tunisians ahead with a wonderfully team crafted goal thanks largely to the efforts of Zied Jaziri who ran towards the Spanish area, dribbled past two defenders before setting up Mnari inside the box.
The Spanish were stunned into action and almost drew level with David Villa’s central free-kick forcing Boumnijel to punch away.
Torres,Xavi and Xabi Alonso had a flurry of chances in the fiirst half but the tunisian defence stood firm to deny them all.
In the second half the spaniards came guns ablazing, knowing that a win would send them through to the next round, and they most certainly want to get rid of the ‘almost’ tag of previous spanish sides that always seems to lack the extra edge when it matters most.
The Tunisians however seem pretty contended to do all the defending and soaking up the pressure from Spain, but it came with a price as Aragones turned things around by bringing on
Raul,Fabregas and later Joaquin into the fray.Raul got on the scoresheet in the 72nd minute
as Joaquin’s cross from the right found Fabregas, whose strike was parried by Boumnijel and the ball fell to Raul, who finished well - meaning all 3 susbtitute had a part to play in the first goal, well done Aragones.

That goal boosted the spaniards and deflated the Tunisians resistents and was even more evident as 4 minutes later as Fabregas served an unmarked Torres outside Tunisia’s area and the striker rounded the goalkeeper and stabbed home. 2-1 to the spanish.
Tunisian keeper Boumnijel (the oldest player in world cup history) than made a fantastic save from Torres to deny him his 2nd and spanish 3rd goal. However it was futile as Alaeddine Yahia held Torres like a teddy bear in the penalty area, which prompted the referee to award Spain with a penalty kick.
Fernando Torres obliged and scored Spain’s 3rd goal, which now also makes him the tournaments Top Goal Scorer with 3 goals to his name.
Final score Spain 3 Tunisia 1.
