Owen, suffered a freak injury
England yet again failed to beat Sweden, and it now strectches to 38 years, yet they could have eliminated that record if they had been more vigilant.
England’s hopes look to be dented from the start as Michael Owen pratically injured himself with a freak twist of the knee 60 seconds into the game.Owen will have a scan tomorrow which could determine his future participation, but Eriksson headed for the dressing room on the final whistle knowing his decision to take only four strikers to Germany will be dissected once again.
Yet,with the frailty in front,England took the lead, and boy what a goal it was!.
Joe Cole struck the ball from 30 yards as sweetly as possible and it was in the back of the net,a really strong contender for goal of the tournament if you ask me.But Sweden were back in it within five minutes of the restart when Allback eluded David Beckham to glance home a Tobias Linderoth corner.

Wonder Goal!
Sven Goran that made a change in the 69th minute bringing on Gerrard for Rooney, the later being extremely frustrated and showed it with childish tantrums, but the change looked liked an inspired one when Gerrard rose above the defence to head in a goal from Joe Cole’s magnificient cross in the 85th minute, however England’s defence was yet again called to question as a late Henrik Larsson goal ensured England would have to beat them another day and also ensured Sweden would still survive in this tournament.
Next up England v.s Ecuador & Germany v.s Sweden.
