0-0 that’s how it ended in the Group C final match between two of football’s powerhouse-Argentina and Holland.

The match to begin with lost some of it’s potential lustre after both teams winning their first two games, which meant both already qualified before the match started, and as expected both teams rested their key players.

Argentina gave rest to Gabriel Heinze,Hernan Crespo,Juan Pablo Sorin and javier Saviola while Holland gave rest to Arjen Robben (on a yellow card),Johnny Heitinga, Giovanni Van Bronckhorst & Mark Van Bommel.

But still Argentina really didn’t look like a side that was featuring a ‘Team B’ side, with the likes of Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez tormenting the dutch defence.Edwin Van der sar had to pull off some saves and most probably this was the game that made him work the hardest. The 0-0 result should please both the Dutch and Argentina, becuase both teams remain unbeaten, but the Argies are on top because of their superior goal difference, thanks largely to their fantastic 6-0 win over Serbia & Montenegro.Van der Sar however isn’t satisfied with the result, he said he was hoping to finish top of the group (yea right :p)

All in all it was a fair performance by both sides, nothing really much to review as both played toned down kinda game, more relaxed and trying to avoid injury, though there were sparks from
Messi,Tevez,Riquelme,Kuyt.

Argentina will now play Mexico while Holland face an emerging force in Portugal.
Marco van Basten feels that with both the teams (Holland & Portugal) being good,it was now time to
practice penalties.
