World Cup 2006 Quater Finals Game 3&4

Well it’s game 3 & 4 tonight.

What a game it was last night! as Germany broke Argentinian hearts and Italy stormed through with an easy peasy 3-0 win.

Tonight the perenial underdogs Portugal take on the ‘boring’ England while there’s a repeat of sorts of the 1998 finals as Brazil take on France.

Game 3

Have you heard Tony Christie’s (Is This The Way To) The World Cup?, if you have that you would remember the lyrics,it goes like this:

‘England win the World Cup, 40 years who gives a ****’

haha..really seriously…who cares about 1966? It’s time for England to rise up and finally take the cup back home, and in their path today is Scolari’s Portugal.

Repeat on the cards tonight?

It will be the third time today that Sven Goran faces Scolari as both previously met in 2002 & 2004 both going in the favour of Scolari,Sven will be hoping it will be third time lucky.

And his hope will be enhanced as Portugal will be without their playmaker Deco and midfield strong man Costinha,Ronaldo looks like a doubt too although he might just make it after recovering from his thigh injury.

England have no excuse but to go through,but maybe Portugal’s team spirit will come to the fore and rescue them again…

my prediction is an England win with Rooney back at his lethal best.

The toast of the day,the repeat of the 1998 finals.

France?..bah..let’s play video games!

The reigning champions take on the resurging French in what will be an intresting battle,the Brazilians insist that revenge is not on their minds (yea..right!!),and tonights game will be like any other.

However Ronaldinho has a diferrent view and labels tonights game as ‘a final’.

Ronaldinho for all his skills and hype surrounding him hasn’t been able to really shine yet in this finals,probably due to the fact that he had a long season in the spanish league ith Barca,but maybe..just maybe he will shine tonight.

There’s the usual suspects in Zidane,Henry,Ronaldo,Barthez,Carlos,Thuram,Emerson,Kaka,Makelele and a hosts of other household names on display tonight, and i think it will be a cracking game.

I’m gonna say that Brazil will win this game and France’s ‘Golden Boys’ will bow out.
