David Beckham has officially step down as England’s captain barely 12 hours after their world cup eliminination.
The decision ends five-and-a-half years at the helm for Becks, and now it looks likely that England’s new boss -Mcclaren will appoint John Terry as the new England Captain.
Beckham revealed it was ‘the most difficult decision of my career’ and added he had taken it some time ago after consulting with his family.
Peter Taylor, the man who made Becks captain in 2000 says ” I feel he has been a terrific captain and he’s played very well for us.
“He must have thought about it long and hard. There have been a couple of dips in form but overall he’s been outstanding and should be proud of the last six years.”
