It’s the news no Man Utd fan wanted to hear,but it’s now confirmed by Sir Alex himself.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to leave Man Utd and his reported destination is Real Madrid where some claim he has already agreed personal terms and set to sign a contract for 3 years.
However, United officials have made it clear they will not let Van Nistelrooy leave on the cheap and it will take a bid well in excess of the £10million Real are rumoured to be prepared to pay for the forward, one of only eight players in the club’s history to score 150 times
If Ruud does leave it would mean that United will be on the lookout for a top class striker to partner Rooney…and it looks likely that it might just be Spain’s Fernando Torres.
