FIFA disciplinary comittee has set Thursday,13 of July 2006 as “the day” for Marco Materazzi and Zidane.

Zidane earned a red card in extra-time when the France playmaker, in his last professional match, headbutted Materazzi in the chest after some verbal provocation from the Italy defender.

The incident happened when France appeared to be getting on top and Zidane’s sending-off also deprived Les Bleus of their first-choice penalty taker in the shoot-out sequence that was won 5-3 by the Azzurri.
