Yet another Chelsea player has left Stamford Bridge, this time around it’s Spanish defender Asier del Horno who completed his reportedly 4.8million switch to Valencia.
It’s intresting to note that both Damien Duff and Del Horno played on the left side for Chelsea..and if you know the rumors, Chelsea are preparing a double swoop for two left sided players in Ashley Cole and Roberto Carlos.
Assuming Chelsea get both their targets, it would be intresting to see who plays as a winger and who plays as a leftback…i think Carlos should be a winger, compare him to Cole in defending i think Cole pretty much defends better than Carlos.
So if Carlos does play as a winger he would be returning to his roots, because indeed he did start his career as a winger.
Ok, back to Del Horno…The 25-year-old joined Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for £8million last summer but struggled to hold down a regular place in Jose Mourinho’s side.
His departure has left Wayne Bridge as the only recognised left-back at Stamford Bridge, although French central defender William Gallas can play in the position and was often used in place of Del Horno last season.
