Arsenal’s Jose Antonio Reyes says he hoped to complete a move to Real Madrid before Arsenal’s Champions League game against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
Real Madrid have made it clear thhat they will not buy players that are not available for all competitions.
‘The manager (Arsene Wenger) hasn’t said anything to me and I don’t know if I am going to play or not. I hope I don’t or that everything will be resolved before then,’ Reyes was quoted as telling sports daily Marca on Friday.
‘Obviously, if I do, it will make a move to Real a lot more difficult. But if I have to play, I will play.’
The question now is..do Real Madrid actually need him? their sports director Predrag Mijatovic said Reyes was not an immediate priority for Madrid, and he is absolutely right.
They have too many fowards as it is (if Reyes plays up front, cause he can play on the wings as well) Robinho,Raul,Ronaldo,Baptista,RVN…that’s just too much if you ask me,unless of course they are planning to “offload” one or two of the fowards as there are rumors that Rafa Benitez is intrested in tempting Raul to join Liverpool.
What do you think? it is sensible to buy Reyes? he does have quality but he rarely ever shows it for Arsenal, that can be due do his inability to settle in England, maybe he’ll play better in Spain?
This type of thing has happen before, remember Marco Metarzzi for Everton? he was pretty useless at Goodison Park yet he made an impact with Inter that was good enough for him to gain a call up to the national squad and he even scored a goal in the Final of the 2006 World Cup!!
Not to forget the headbutt incident too..hehe

Reyes was a brilliant player for his previous club Seville. I think he’s not fully settled in England – so would love to offload him back to Spain.
