It’a now official – Sol Campbell wanted to stay in the Premiership afterall!
Campbell has moved to the south-coast on a one-year deal from Arsenal, with the option of a further year.
Harry Redknapp must be totally over the moon, at 31 years of age it is indeed not a bad investment, considering he could also be kinda like a ‘mentor’ to the younger,inexperienced footy players at Portsmouth FC.
Redknapp’s Comments:
“I think he’ll give the place a real lift just coming in. He’s a top, top player, a big character and I think he’s a great signing for us.
“He’s very strong. I think he’s fine and looking forward to the challenge.”
Redknapp is in the market for another goalkeeper after number two Jamie Ashdown was recently ruled out for six weeks with a broken thumb.
So much for moving ‘abroad’!
