Tomasz Kuszczak

Tomasz Kuszczak has signed for Man Utd from West Brom as the details of the deal are a little blurry and will be announced on Friday, but one thing is for sure is that the capture of Kuszczak will see United’s defender McShane and goalkeeper Steele head to The Hawthorns from Old Trafford on three-year contracts.

It also signals the loan departure of Ben Foster to Watford, his second stint with the club after being key member of the Hornets side that won promotion via the Championship play-offs.

Foster’s excellent form also saw him named on the standby list for England’s World Cup squad.

I was delighted to get the call giving me the all-clear to come down and sign all the paperwork,” Foster said. “Now I’m really looking forward to a year in the Premiership with Watford.”

Kuszczak will now act as understudy to United’s first-choice goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, with Ferguson looking to the former Hertha Berlin star to stake a claim to be United’s new number one when the veteran Dutchman calls time on his own career, probably after Euro 2008.

A reasonable capture in my opinion, he has Premiership experience and with Tim Howard and Foster also set to have Premiership experience this season, it does look pretty good in the long run for United’s goalkeeping department after suffering all these years since the departure of “The Great Dane”.

I wonder who United will sign next, with rumors of Senna persisting and now there’s even a possibility of the arrival of either Martins or Adriano from Inter Milan.

WasteSpent some more $$ Sir Alex! :P
