Arsenal and German Goalie Jens Lehmann has admitted that he plans to call it a day after the Euro 2008 tournament.

Lehmann also admitted that he could very well quit Arsenal after the 2006/07 season and play one more year in Germany.

At the age of 36, I have the European Championships ahead of me in two years and that is what I am working up to,” said The Gunners player.

“Afterwards I think that will be it, both with the national team and as a professional footballer.

Buffon To Arsenal?

Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon revealed that he was close to signing for Arsenal fater Juventus were relagated to Serie B.

“I cannot hide that, after five years here, I was tempted by a new experience,” the World Cup winner said.

“That could have been AC Milan, Internazionale or Arsenal, and I think I would have tended towards Milan.

City gets Isaksson

And the last of the goalkeeper round-up…Man City have aquired the services of Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson from French club Rennes for £2million.

The 24-year-old has been capped 42 times by his country and was Sweden’s first-choice keeper during this summer’s World Cup.

Isaksson told City’s official website mcfc.co.uk: “It is a great club to come to, and to come to England and play for a club like Manchester City is an honour for me.
