Kakha Kaladze has been a rock in AC Miilan’s defence, but recent reports suggest that he is looking for a fresh challenge and is likely to move to London to ply his trade with Arsenal.
Arsenal have already confirmed that they made a bid for Chelsea’s William Gallas but revealed that they are looking for another defender after losing Sol Campbell to Pompey, Phillipe Sanderos to injury and the impending sale of Ashley Cole.
Kaladze has been a long-term target for Chelsea and Manchester United but it’s not likely that the duo will make a bid for him leaving Arsenal with the perfect opportunity to snatch a really experienced and relatively young player (28-years-old).
Kakha Kaladze was traditionally a left-back from his days with FC Dinamo Tbilisi,Dynamo Kyiv and Milan, at Milan he formed a solid defence along with Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, and Alessandro Costacurta but has suffered injuries which limited his appreance with AC Milan.
However the injuries proved to be a blessing in disguise as in 2005/06, the injuries of Jaap Stam and Maldini gave Kaladze a new position that suits him best: central defence. With this new position he was able to fix Milan’s defence problems and Milan did not concede at a time in the league for over five matches in succession.
It would be a great addition to the Arsenal team, i’m always looking foward to watch World Class players in the Premier League and Kakha Kaladze is just that..or at least he is in my FM 2006!
