It’s not suprise is it that Barcelona has won the Spanish Supercopa after beating city rivals Espanyol 3-0 at the Nou Camp for an aggregate 4-0 victory thanks to two goals from Deco and another from Xavi in Sunday’s return meeting.
The European Champs had no trouble against their city rivals and Ronaldinho was once again at the heart of things in the Barca midfield.
Espanyol has harboured hopes of an upset after losing the first leg a mere 1-0 at home, but Barca quickly squashed all their hopes thanks to a second minute goal from the onrushing Xavi who glanced home Ronaldinho’s pinpoint cross with his head from eight yards out.
Portugese playmaker Deco scored soon after full-back Juliano Belletti got to the byline before pulling the ball back for the unmarked Portugal midfielder to easily slot home from around the penalty spot.
And just before the hour mark Deco wrapped up victory for Barca with a superb goal.
Lilian Thuram and Eidur Gudjohnsen were given their first competitive debut for Barca in the second half.

In the meantime UEFA have awarded Ronaldinho the European footballer of the year award while 3 of his Barca pals also made it with Carlos Puyol (Barcelona) – Best defender; Deco (Barcelona) – Best midfielder; Samuel Eto’o (Barcelona) – Best forward.
