It’s one brazilian for another as AC Milan look set to complete the signing of Real Betis striker Ricardo Oliveira.
I’ve made it known many times on this blog that Milan would be making a mistake in signing Ronaldo and looks like one of their rep reads this blog
as they look to end the search for Shevchenko’s replacement by signing the 26-year-old Ricardo Oliveira.
For a relatively young player as Oliveira it can be considered that he is a ‘much travelled’ player as he has already had stints with 4 different clubs.
Oliveira began his career at Portuguesa in 2000 and scored 23 goals in 46 appearances for the club before he left for Santos where he managed to score only 4 goals in the entire season, but in fairness to him he did only play 14 games.
He did get a lifeline as Rafa Benitez than at Valencia brought him to the club where he scored 8 La Liga goals in 21 games, including a fantastic long rage effort against Barcelona. After only one season, along with UEFA Cup and La Liga medals, he moved on to Real Betis.
At Real Betis is where his talents really began to show and has scored 30 goals in 51 appearances which is not a bad ratio, thus attracting Milan for his services.
As for medals he has won the Copa del Rey with Betis & the UEFA Cup and La Liga with Valencia.
So basically Milan will be signing a winner.
Betis will receive €15.0 million for Ricardo Oliveira pending his medical in Milan.
I think this has been a positive move by Milan.
