Argentina’s Juan Roman Riquelme has retired from international footy at the very young age of 28.
He cited personal reasons as why he retired from international duty, claiming that his mother’s health being the main reason.
He said: “I’ve decided not to be part of the national team from now on. I have to think about my mother’s health, so it was an easy decision because of that, but painful.
“Since the World Cup finished, she has been taken into hospital twice,” he told Telenoche news show on Channel 13, in an exclusive interview.
This news kinda made my day a little less entertaining, i love Riquelme, not that kind of way you pevert, he really is a good player with good footy sense and his freekicks and accurate passes will be missed by Argentina.
I really can’t think of anyone who can play at his position unless they recall Seba Veron or something.
Here is the full details to why he retired.
