Wow, seems like a plethora of footy news today, some really suprising decisions, some good news and a bad news for Barcelona & their fans.

First off Manchester United will be missing their French defender Mikael Silvestre who will be out for six weeks after suffering a foot injury.Manchester United’s assistant manager Carlos Queiroz confirmed that Silvestre will be out and also made an announcement that Wayne Rooney who has been out of form lately will return to his best and even revealed that the youngster spent extra hours on the training field in the quest to capture back his form.

It was really a pity to see Rooney in his current form, i’ve never seen Ferguson angry at Rooney but he was when United faced Benfica in the Champions League, scolding him for loosing possesion cheaply, and in fact Ferguson substituted him for Fletcher.

As for Silvestre there’s nothing to worry really with Vidic and Heinze back in the team and Evra could also step in.

Barcelona will miss Samuel Eto’o

Not just Barca, i’ll miss Eto’o too!!, The Cameroonian will be out for 5 long months after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Of course there’s the likes of Saviola, Messi, Eidur G and Ludovic Giuly who could just slip in bit Eto’o is just different, i love watching him do a 1-2 with Ronaldinho and his style of playing off the bal is fantastic too, surely will be missed.

Raul Dropped from Spanish Squad & Ruud is Out too…again.

In the most suprising move ever to be made, Real Madrid and Spanish captain Raul has been left out of Spain’s squad for their Group F UEFA EURO 2008 qualifier away against Sweden on the 7th of October.

Raul has NEVER in his career been ommited from the national squad apart from injury related reasons.

Meanwhile fellow Real Madrid teammate Ruud Van Nistelrooy has also been left out of the national squad..again as Marco Van Basten announced his squad today.

It may have been retribution for what van Nistelrooy had said about Van Basten earlier in the week when he said that he had probably been left out of the squads since World Cup 2006 for reasons other than those related to football.

Let’s ponder the fate of Madrid players…Raul -Out, Ruud -Out, Beckham -Out…Next…Ronaldo?
Believe me it’s not too far fetch to see Ronaldo out of the Brazilian Lineup.

Scott Parker Recalled

Newcastle’s Scott Parker has been recalled to the national squad by Steve Mcclaren, Parker has been in the national squad before especially when he was playing for Charlton but what had seem like a dream move to Chelsea completely ruined his chances as he had limited apprearances for the Blues, but his current form has earned him a recalled in the wake of the absence of Owen Hargreaves from the squad after he suffered a broken leg while playing for Bayern Munich.

Wayne Rooney is also back in the fold after serving his two-match ban for a red card in the World Cup quarter-final against Portugal.

Return of the Srnicek

Remember Pavel Srnicek? wow, you actually did remember? Well his back in England with his former club Newcastle as cover for Steve Harper while Shay Given recovers from abdominal surgery.
