I know many won’t agree with me, but i think Chelsea were the ones that ‘held on’ and are most probably the happier team to come out of the game against a plucky Villa side with a 1-1 draw.
It all began horribly wrong for Aston Villa as they were trailing as early as the 3rd minute thanks to a dubious goal that shouldn’t have been allowed in the first place as replays show that John Terry barged into Villa’s keeper Thomas Sorensen who came for the ball and the argy bargy that ensued allowed the very in form Drogba to tap in the first goal of the game.
Credit to Villa though who didn’t just sit back and hope on a counter attack move but instead were a vibrant side going foward and received their reward just before half time as Gabriel Agbonlahor headed in the equalizer.

I don’t know about you and what kind of commentator you had, but i was not happy with mine.
The commentators just kept on repeating over and over and over again on how one day Shevchenko will find his true form, now i can agree with that statement that Sheva will one day blossom with Chelsea, but hearing it over and over again really irritated me, everytime Shevchenko touch the ball or made a mistake they would say something like “Well, we all know what Shevchenko can do,it’s only a matter of time before he starts scoring regularly”.
I think Shevchenko made a mistake coming to Chelsea and i also think he regrets it, he doesn’t look at all happy playing with Chelsea and he seems to be not suited for the style that Jose Mourinho has implemented and with Didier Drogba in total hot form i can’t see a bright future for Sheva which is a pity because he really is a good player but i think he’s playing for the wrong team now.
His former teammate at Milan Kakha Kaladze believes that Andriy Shevchenko misses life with the Rossoneri as he cannot express himself at Chelsea. You can read more on that - click here.
Back to the game we go…Arjen Robben was a constant threat to Villa but was substituted in the second half and completely stormed down to the dressing room instead of sitting on the bench..i wonder what was that all about? Trouble in the Chelsea camp? or did he just rushed to the loo?

Thomas Sorensen was on inspired form today and he almost single handedly denied Chelsea a win, which now leaves them with 16 points from 7 games and that also means Villa is still unbeaten in the League and Jose Mourinho continues his “home” record for not losing a single game at home for 4 1/2 years which also includes his time with Porto, simply an amazing stat!.
Man Utd could top the table tommorrow if the beat Newcastle United but it won’t be an easy game as Toon newboy Martins is currently on form.Portsmouth could snatch top place if the beat
Spurs and Man Utd lose or draw.
Can’t wait for tommorrow, but for now i have to stop writting as i’m about to make a short trip to Kuala Lumpur now for some business stuff.
