There are winds of rumors that AC Milan are ready to burst the bank to lure Barcelona’s Ronaldinho to the San Siro next summer but it all depends on how they finish this season having been embroiled in the Italian bribe scandal.
Unconfirmed stories have claimed that Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has recently met with Roberto Assis – Ronaldinho’s brother and agent.
The former Italian Prime Minister is a massive fan of the Samba star and its conceivable that the two men discussed a possible future switch.
One problem would be that Ronaldinho would definitely insist on the number 10 shirt as he recently released a personal clothing collection called R10.
The player that holds the number 10 at Milan is Clarence Seedorf and the player himself has made a statement in the media claiming he would give up the number willingly to accomodate such a brilliant talent.
“If he joins Milan I don’t think there would be any problems about who is going to take the No 10 shirt,†said the former Inter man. “We will just see what will happen next year.â€Â
If Ronaldinho does joing Milan he will be in direct competition with his Brazilian teammate Kaka, who also said he would be pleased if ‘Ronnie’ switched clubs.
I think Milan are making a positive move, but as they themselves have said their final position in the league this year is all important, cause a player like Ronaldinho expects Champions League games and if Milan can’t offer him that than there’s no reason to switch clubs.
On the other hand will Barca let him go? the coach has build a team around Ronaldinho and taking him away is like taking a huge chunk out of the team, i can only guess players like Eto’o,Iniesta,Marquez and co may also consider leaving especially since they have already won the Champions League with Barca and a new challenge may very well be what their looking for.
