Chelsea fans will be delighted to know that their star striker Didier Drogba has inked a four-year deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge through the 2009/10 season.
The new four-year deal comes as Drogba’s current contract had just 18 months remaining, the Blues eager to quell any potential rumors about their Ivorian star’s future.
Chelsea brought the talented foward to England from Marseille with a substantial fee and it looks like that they are reaping the rewards as Drogba is joint top scorer in both the Premiership and Champions League, hitting five goals in each competition.
This will keep the press off his back for the time being and speculations were rising that he could be on his way to Barcelona or AC Milan, but for now at least Chelsea fans can be satisfied that Drogba will be with them for some time to come.
