Chelsea and Utd Continue Title Race - 2007

It’s been a busy week in the Premier League with back to back games,injuries, mind games and more.

Mna Utd continue to lead the table with Cristiano Ronaldo in super hot form scoring 6 goals in 3 games, that is simply a fantastic statistic, sadly though he wasn’t on the score sheet today against Newcastle with the game ending 2-2 thanks to a double from Scholes and an equaliser from 19-year-old David Edgar (Not to be confused with Edgar Davids ).

Chelsea will go into tommorrow’s game against Aston Villa knowing that a win will cut Utd’s lead at the top to 4 points and will hope they can somehow overhaul Man Utd before the two meet in April.

The worrying point for Chelsea is their defence with Terry still out and may continue to be out for the next 4-5 weeks as he recovers from his back surgery.The ‘Special One’ Jose has also done something he rarely ever does and that is criticissing his players, Jose has begun criticising the likes of Geremi, Wright-Philips, Shevchenko and co plus saying that only Drogba is on form and for once i agree with Jose.

Will Shevchenko join the likes of Adrian Mutu and Meteja Kezman in being expensive Chelsea flops? I think the answer is a BIG yes, Sheva just isn’t made for the Premiership & hopefully Chelsea will end the misery for them and the player soon by offloading him in this transfer window.

As for United they are looking strong but today’s slip at Newcastle has place a reminder of how things can change in an instant and how a 6 point lead is still ever so fragile.The good news will be that Henrik Larsson will be available for selection in the next game plus Rossi returns to Old Trafford after his stint with the Toons.

I wonder if Utd will make an offer for Hargreaves this month, if they do than most probably if will involved a swap and money deal with Wes Brown going the other way.

All in die time i guess.
