Chelsea’s defence needs some beefing up and the latest name to cime into the scene is Bolton’s 24-year-old Israeli defender Tal Ben Haim who cost Bolton a mere £250,000 from Maccabi Tel Aviv in July 2004 but Bolton are said to be asking for £5million from Chelsea.
Matters got worst recently when newboy Khalid Boulahrouz damaged knee ligaments against Aston Villa on Tuesday which may ultimately force Jose to act swiftly in this january transfer market.
Besides looking for some cover at the back, Chelsea may also find themselves on the market for a striker to take the burden off Didier Drogba, amazing how this could be since 6 months earlier everyone was talking of how powerful Chelsea’s strikeforce will be with the addition of Shevchenko but it looks like the Ukranian foward may soon follow the path taken by Adrian Mutu and Mateja Kezman.
