Dmitar Berbatov has angered Tottenham Hotspur fans by being pictured signing a Manchester United shirt. I don’t really see why this is such a big deal… if I was a fan and wanted his autograph, but didn’t happen to support Tottenham, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be able to sign another shirt (although it would be a bit weird to have say Giggs’ shirt on an Arsenal shirt). I would be annoyed if Berbatov refused to give me an autograph simply because I didn’t happen to have a Tottenham shirt to sign
Obviously this won’t be doing his reputation any favours though, and hopefully he will move on sooner rather than later as he is currently wasting his time in North London.

Roy Keane obviously feels he needs more to add more to his attack at Sunderland, with both David Healy and Djibril Cisse having medicals at the club. Healy is currently playing at Fulham and Cisse is currently at Olympique Marseille and is set to join Sunderland on a loan deal.

Jerome Thomas has had his loan move made permanent after signing a 1 year contract with the Premiership club after moving from Championship side Charlton Athletic.

And last night Mikael Silvestre became the first player in 34 years to move from United to Arsenal when signing a 2 year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Shevchenko will apparently return to AC Milan on a loan for at least a season, a move which would probably suit all parties involved (especially Milan). The Shevchenko rumours have been persistant ever since the Ukranian arrived at Chelsea, and its about time that he went back to Italy as it just wasn’t working out in England, for whatever reason.

In another strange transfer rumour, Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre is apparently wanted by Arsenal. Wenger has apparently offered £750,000 for the left-back/centreback, and United will be willing to let him leave at a vastly reduced price. Even more shocking is that Wenger is apparently seeing Silvestre not as just a squad player, but as either a centreback or left back, more as a replacement for Phillipe Senderos. Silvestre was on the verge of moving to Sunderland or Man City, but instead will be the first player to be transferred between the 2 clubs in 34 years.

West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand is still being linked with a move to Sunderland, with Roy Keane tight-lipped when being questioned about the rumour.

West Bromwich Albion are on the verge of breaking their record transfer fee with the signing of Borja Valero for £4.75 from Spanish side Real Mallorca. The midfielder is said to have already agreed terms on a 4 year deal at WBA, who looked a little lacking in midfield when playing against Arsenal at the weekend.

Manchester United are believed to have made an offer for Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who they see as the next-best-choice after Dmitar Berbatov. With Real Madrid also interested in Huntelaar, United will be keen to get-one-over on the Spanish giants after the Cristiano Ronaldo affair in the summer.

It appears that the current Portsmouth winger is wanted for stealing a vehicle from outside the YMCA. Lets just hope its not the same one that Marlon King was arrested for handling back in 2002…

Stoke City have signed Southampton defender Andrew Davies and Ipswich have agreed a fee with Newcastle for striker Shola Ameobi.

Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a new long-term deal at Arsenal, and Wenger has called on the Arsenal fans to all get behind him this season. It did seem at one point that Adebayor was pining for a move to Barcelona or Milan, but obviously now he will be staying put at the Emirates stadium.

In slightly more interesting news, if not complete tripe, Chelsea have been told it will take £70 million to bring Kaka to Stamford Bridge. I don’t know about anyone else, but even as a Man Utd fan I would love to see a player like Kaka in the Premiership. It seems a waste that he is playing in Serie A, when he could be watched by millions every week in England.

Rangers and Fulham have finally agreed on a fee for Northern Ireland midfielder Steven Davis, with sources suggesting that £4 million has been the agreed price.

Berbatov has meanwhile pleaded with Tottenham Hotspur to allow him to complete his dream move to Manchester United. Berbatov was left on the bench as Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Middlesbrough, and as Man Utd could only draw 1-1 with Newcastle it seems that Ferguson will step up his attempts to sign the Bulgarian striker.

Robbie Fowler is apparently set to be offered a permanent deal at Blackburn Rovers by boss Paul Ince after he was initially given a trial.
