Rumors are that Eric “The King” Cantona had seriously considered making a comeback this season believing he was/is as good as Maldini,Cafu or Teddy Sheringham.

And the striker, voted United’s greatest ever player, shed almost two stone in a dedicated effort to reach his 1997 playing weight.
He told The Sun: “It was six months ago I realised even by training for eight solid weeks my dream of returning wasn’t possible.
“What I discovered was that I didn’t have the fire any more.”
That would have been great as he could have been a bit part player at least in the Man Utd team, of course assuming he re-joined Utd that is.
But sadly it didn’t work out. ![]()

All hail the King!
It would be great if he returned just to help Man Utd acheive the treble this season.
Anyhow, he’s the real king and the revered Number 7 of the devils.
Quite amusing he came to Old Trafford for a measly 1.2 million quid, what a bargain!
All hail the King!
