34-year-old Roberto Ayala has joined Real Zaragoza in a shock 6 million move from Villarreal. The shock of course is because Ayala hasn’t even kicked a ball yet for the Yellow Sudmarine but a flaw in his contract allowed him to leave Villarreal for 6 million and that’s what Zaragoza did as they invoked the clause in the contract, even more shocking is that a club would actually pay 6 million for a 34-year-old.
The veteran helped Los Che to the Champions League final in his first two seasons, but lost out in both. However he later won two Liga titles and the UEFA Cup during his seven-year spell.
Ayala is set to feature for Argentina against Brazil in the final of the Copa America on Sunday.
