Well, i’m kinda surprised by the decision of Arsene Wenger to name William Gallas as the new Arsenal captain to replace Thierry Henry, i was betting on Gilberto Silva receiving the captain’s armband but it was not to be.This is what Arsene had to say about the selection:

“I feel centre-back is always the best position to lead on the pitch and it is Gallas who has more experience at the back,But Gilberto has always been a great captain and Kolo Toure has stature too”.

I still think Gilberto would have been the better choice, he plays in the middle, has tons of experience, been with Arsenal a long time and at the least repay him for his loyalty, but than again Wenger when for the French connection
