Everton finally got their hands on Boro’s Ayegbeni Yakubu for £11.25 million.The 24-year-old was initially denied a permit as he has not played 75 percent of games for Nigeria in the last two years.

Everton successfully appealed on grounds of his exceptional ability and track record in the Premiership.

Yakubu has developed into one of the Premier League’s most dependable goalscorers, firing home 53 times in four seasons with Portsmouth and Boro, and he hopes to go from strength to strength on Merseyside.
