Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has stated that he believes that wonderkid Giovani dos Santos is not ready to start a Liga game.

The Mexican was outstanding in midweek against Inter Milan in Barca’s 5-0 Gamper Trophy victory, but Rijkaard said: “Responsibility cannot be given so easily to the youngest players in the team. But it is clear that Giovani can have his opportunity and why not from the beginning?

“I have great confidence in him because he has become an important member of the squad. Although at the moment, players with more experience and fame must show this on the field.”
