Wenger has signed on the dotted line. Phew! What a relief, though I somehow expected it to happen. No other manager (arguably) in the history of football has so much control over a club. With the vision he has, it is perceivable to see how he got to that position. No owners to tell you how to run the club and no primadonnas to impede with your work.
He has been extremely successful with Arsenal, no other team play mouthwatering football as Arsene’s team has for the last 10 years. With the impending takeover gossips continue to snowball, it does not seem to affect Arsenal’s play. And after a couple of games, this Arsenal team does look extremely level-headed from the Thierry Henry inspired side. This team does not bank on a single player, and they work hard for each other, as evident in their games. However, I remained unconvinced on whether they can bring home any silverware this season.
Their first big test of the season come in the form of underperforming Spurs, who will be looking to wallop their North Londoners this weekend. Arsenal should garner 3 points from this fiery clash based on form, but, it’s a London derby. Can Martin Jol keep his head down and continue managing the club after being “sacked” and re-instated?
Arsenal to come off bruised, with a point (at least) in the bag.
