James Mcfadden of Everton gave the Scots a memorable night as his 30 yard strike from out of the blue passed the French keeper and ensured Scotland got all three points in a fantastic night of football in France.

The French team pilled on the pressure with the likes of Malouda, Ribery, Anelka and Trazequet attacking the Scottish defence, but Scotland held on till the end to chalked up an impressive 1-0 win.

France were playing without Thierry Henry as he was suspended for this game.
