What a night of footy it was and what a shock result coming out of London as the mighty Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Norwegian club Rosenborg.

Rosenborg - who had previously won just once in 19 Champions League encounters - opened the scoring through defender Mikka Koppinen and battled hard for the point in a game which Chelsea dominated from start to finish.

But despite Shevchenko’s equaliser - his first of the season but his 60th in European competition - and a spate of late chances, Jose Mourinho’s side were unable to kick off their campaign with victory in what was considered pre-match to be their easiest game of the group stage.
