Real Madrid’s Robinho is definitely on form as he led his club to a 4-3 win over Real Mallorca in the weekend by scoring a brace.Brazilian forward Robinho was in sparkling form and twice put Real ahead in the first half, only for Fernando Varela’s equalisers to keep Mallorca in the game.

Daniel Guiza put the visitors in front for the first time after the break but further goals from Raul and Ruud van Nistelrooy maintained Real’s 100 percent home record.

Real were a point clear of second-placed Villarreal who beat 10-man Sevilla 3-2 at the Madrigal in the late game.

He has now credited his current rich vein of form to coach Bernd Schuster.

“The coach understands me,” he said. “He speaks candidly with me because he’s been through these situations. He always gives me good advice. Schuster allows me to play with more liberties on the pitch, and that’s how I can develop my football.

“I reach the last third with a lot more energy to take on defenders and dribble around them, but I also understand that I have to help out the team when it comes to defending.
