Now here’s a footy news with a twist, it’s not fantasy football but there’s a site (MyFootballClub) out there that actually allows you and me to be an owner of a club and it all starts from £35.In fact the 20,000 members of the site has agreed to takeover Football Conference club Ebbsfleet United.
The 20,000 members of the site, launched in the spring, have each paid £35 to provide a £700,000 takeover pot.
As a result they will all own an equal share in the club and have a vote on transfers, player selection and all major decisions. They will also have an option to buy all the club for a fixed price in future.
As part of the deal, the current board will continue their roles at the club as non-executives. The club staff, including manager Liam Daish, are expected to stay on.
