Well it was a matter of time but Billy Davies has parted company with his employers - Derby County.The Premier League club the moved quickly to appoint their academy chief Kevin Thelwell as caretaker manager.

The Rams are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League having won just one of their 14 games since being promoted.

Derby were also knocked out of the Carling Cup in the second round to Blackpool.

It’s a sad case since the club didn’t really do much for Billy, he had to take the same team that won the Championship and manage them in the Premier League without much new players brought in, it’s absurd to have high hopes when the squad itself is not capable to match Premier League standards, all the best to Billy Davies.
