Cheslea’s Didier Drogba was twice admitted to hospital this week with severe knee swelling.Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is suffering from severe swelling of the knee so bad that he was admitted to hospital on both Monday and Tuesday.
The Ivorian has experienced troubles with his knee since the early part of this season, although it is not yet known what exactly has caused the inflamation.
Drogba was many people’s man-of-the-match in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over West Ham on Saturday, but his knee troubles returned soon after the game.
He is now rated as highly doubtful for the game against Sunderland this weekend as he might require surgery and be sidelined for three weeks.

I’ve also heard today that Chelsea will be making a decision whether to operate on Drogba’s knee, the cause of which being degeneration, a problem which if not dealt with can seriously shorten a players career.
Rumours are that the club will rest him against Sunderland at the weekend but play him against Liverpool in the Carling Cup in two weeks time.
Without a player like Didier Chelsea will struggle once again through Christmas – a period which arguably cost them the title last season – and the Blue’s desperately need to find a replacement. There are rumours circulating about Arsenal’s Bendtner but personally I feel that David Villa could well be a better asset to the club, especially in the short term.
