I've also heard today that Chelsea will be making a decision whether to operate on Drogba's knee, the cause of which being degeneration, a problem which if not dealt with can seriously shorten a players career.
Rumours are that the club will rest him against Sunderland at the weekend but play him against Liverpool in the Carling Cup in two weeks time.
Without a player like Didier Chelsea will struggle once again through Christmas - a period which arguably cost them the title last season - and the Blue's desperately need to find a replacement. There are rumours circulating about Arsenal's Bendtner but personally I feel that David Villa could well be a better asset to the club, especially in the short term.
