Carlos Tevez scored a brace in yesterday’s game againsy Derby but all attention was on Ryan Giggs who magnificiently served the club well over the year as he netted his 100th goal in the Premier League, in fact he was playing for Man Utd before the EPL (as it is today) was formed, what an amazing stat!.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late penalty, a controversial one i might add but i guess it’s a little balanced now considering his shout for a penalty in the previous game was ignored, he also caused a little stir with some of the crowd who wanted Tevez to take the penalty in order to attain his first hattrick for the club, but in the end Sir Alex, Giggs and Ferdinand said that it was the right thing to do (Ronaldo taking the penalty) as he is the usual penalty taker, my money is on the fact that he didn’t want Tevez to get his hattrick as Ronaldo himself haven’t attain that feat after many times scoring two goals in a game.
Video:
Giggs scored an uncharacteristic tap-in to open the scoring late in the first half before Tevez struck a second on the stroke of the the break.
Ronaldo, who went down easily under a challenge from Mears in the second minute of time added on, put away the penalty kick.
