Arsenal and Liverpool drew 1-1 in their Champions League quarter-final first leg encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
Emmanuel Adebayor gave Arsenal a 23rd minute lead but Dirk Kuyt equalised within three minutes to claim a vital away goal for Liverpool.
Rafa Benitez’s side withstood strong second-half pressure, which included claims for a penalty by Alexander Hleb and also saw Nicklas Bendtner inadvertently clear off the Liverpool goalline, to go back to Merseyside for the second leg next Tuesday on level terms.
This was Arsenal’s-Liverpool’s first game against each other, they will play two times more within the next few days in the Premier League and 2nd leg of this Quarter-Finals.

Arsenal have to go all out next round, but at Anfield that may not be enough. With Liverpool proving themselves over and over again in Europe over the last few years, Arsenal need a performance like they had in Milan to overcome Liverpool now.
I’m certainly looking forward to the game next week now anyway!
