Gerrard Torres What an entertaining game we’ve just seen, nobody in their right mind would have predicted a 6 goal fest in this game especially after the previous two encounters ended in 1-1 draws.Liverpool progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League yet again and they will face a familiar foe in the shape of Chelsea.

It all began extremely well for Arsenal when in the 13th minute Abou Diaby skipped past a couple of defenders to power in the first goal and give Arsenal a 2-1 lead on aggregate, but Liverpool were not going to lay low, definitely not in the Champions League and at Anfield and definitely not in this game considering their only hope for silverware this season is in the Champions League.

They got their deserved break in the 30th minute when a Stevie G cross was headed in by Hyppia, i must say that Arsenal’s defending at times is dreadful, Hyppia and tons of time to get his header in and the guy at the post (Fabregas i think) didn’t seem to give his all to prevent that ball from entering the net and such casual defending came to haunt them again when Torres put Liverpool in the driving seat in the 69th minute.

But for all Liverpool’s effort it seemed that they were on their way out when a brilliant Theo Walcott run from inside his own half and cross found an unmarked Adebayor who cooly slotted in, that made it 3-3 on aggregate and Arsenal were going through based on the away goal rule, the travelling Arsenal fans were estatic but their joy was shortlived when two minutes later Kolo Toure was shwon the yellow card and the referee awarded a penalty to Liverpool, and Steven Gerrard rarely misses a penalty.

Arsenal were shell shocked and went all out to find another goal but instead susbstitute Ryan Babel found himself on a one-on-one sprint with Fabregas to cooly slot in the 4th goal for Liverpool and ensure the REDS meet the BLUES (again!) in the semi-fianls of the Champions League.
