Sammy Lee has been appointed as assistant manager to Rafael Benitez at Liverpool.

Lee was a former Liverpool midfield player having made 294 appearance for the Reds. His last job was at Bolton Wanderers having taken over from Sam Allardyce. His time at Bolton was however not the happiest, leaving Bolton lying second from bottom of the Premier League, before being removed from his post.

The 49-year-old previuosly held a full-time role with England in 2004 before joining Bolton as assistant manager in 2005.
