Stamford Bridge must be a pretty dull place to be at the moment, perhaps thats the reason they stated that a major announcement was due at 5pm… simply to say that Lampard has signed his new contract, as everyone in the world expected.
It was obvious that Frank was going to stay at Chelsea when Mourinho brought in Muntari at Inter Milan. There were no other clubs that were actually linked to signing Lampard, and so I don’t see why this is even being seen as news. Lampard spit his dummy out a little at the end of the Champions League final, drummed up a bit of interest, then it all went quiet again. Lampard will no-doubt be on a stupid-amount-of-money, and will eventually end his career with the club.
