Riera Could Join Liverpool, Everton Sign Jacobsen, City After Bellamy, Chelsea Still Want Robinho

Not many confirmed transfers in the past few days, the only one worth reporting about is Jacobsen signing on a 1 year deal at Everton, which hardly sounds exciting. Jacobsen is a Denmark international defender, and becomes Everton’s first and probably only signing of the summer. And the fact that he’s been signed on a 1 year contract doesn’t inspire much confidence. And then its been noticed that he wears football shirts that have been sponsored by a company called “Dong”…

Meanwhile Everton have reported offered £9.6 million for Espanyol winger Albert Riera, but Liverpool have also been looking at the Spaniard and have matched Everton’s offer. Riera is said to be far more interested in joining Liverpool, and looks set to have a medical before being confirmed in the next few days. More bad news for Everton fans then, whilst it looks like Liverpool would have solved their left-sided problems.

According to more strange rumours, Craig Bellamy is wanted by Manchester City (although I don’t really see why). Perhaps City are that desperate for a front-man, and with Santa Cruz having signed a new deal at City, maybe Bellamy is seen as the next-best-option. If Bellamy leaves West Ham it will be his 9th club in his 8-year playing career.

More newspaper-speculation regarding Real Madrid’s wantaway Brazilian winger Robinho, with Chelsea set to offer £28 million to bring him to Stamford Bridge, and Madrid seemingly ready to accept.
