Apologies this is a bit late now, but this is the Footy Blog impression of what would happen if the Premiership was to meet the Olympics…
Feel free to make your own suggestions of potential football-athletes by leaving a comment at the bottom of the post.

Weightlifting
Yossi Benayoun, weightlifting champion

The Premiership weightlifter has to be Mr. Muscles himself, Yossi Benayoun of Liverpool. However if Karate was an option at the Olympics then Yossi would have probably found himself as the Karate kid of the Kop….

Hurdles
Peter Crouch, the hurdles top choice

Our hurdles choice has to be Peter Crouch (although we did also consider him for basketball/high-jump/long-jump/etc etc…) We found this picture doing the rounds on the Internet, and so decided to use it as we were too lazy to make our own up :)

Gymnastics
Dean Windass, gymnastic gold medalist

Think of Gymnastics and the Premiership combined, and you will no doubt think of Hull City forward Dean Windass  … hence our picture of Windass, the pinnacle of human-fitness.

Diving
Cristiano Ronaldo diving

Although he does seem to have calmed down on the theatrics, Cristiano Ronaldo is still known to be a bit of a diver… which is why this picture is also doing the rounds on the Internet, and is why we have decided to borrow it for this post…

Volleyball
Paul Scholes, volleyball pro

Although a late entry, Paul Scholes has sealed the position of Volleyball pro at the Premiership Olympics. Again, Peter Crouch was another contender for this position.
