City’s new Brazilians, Robinho and Jo, wear the same green boots. That’s not the only similarity they have.  They are both Brazilians, quick and great to watch.  These two will frighten and trouble any defence this season.  They certainly did yesterday in the 6-0 rout of Pompey at the City of Manchester stadium.

Surprisingly, Robinho worked hard for the full 90 minutes. This was most effective in the 14th minute of the match as he got the ball and put Jo through on goal. The tall striker strode onto the ball, easily rounded James and City were 1-0 up. It was a torrid afternoon for the Portsmouth back four.  Distain was unusually poor and Sol Campbell was abysmal.  He was nutmegged three times by Robinho and by the end of the game looked like had had aged fifty years and was ready to be pensioned off.  He was also so slow that at one point it took him six minutes just to turn around.

We had the return of ‘Calamity’ James yesterday.  He was at fault for arguably two of the goals (Dunne 20 and Fernandez 83). He has so many blood rushes to his head he will soon need a transfusion.  In between his errors,  we had a classy 64th minute goal from Robinho and the goal of the match on the 78th minute finished by Chad Evans. It was his first Premiership goal for City.

City’s new chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak was watching in the stands for the first time.  Disappointingly, he did not have a tea-towel on his head or anywhere else on his body.  He must have been delighted with what he saw.  The green boot boys are at City and the fans are loving every second.
